e-Lybra Energy Balancing System
Recommended Computer Specification
π» Operating System Compatibility
- β e-Lybra 9 runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11
- β Older versions like Windows 7 and XP are no longer supported
- β At the present time the software will not run correctly on a Windows ARM computer. We share the frustration here - the company that manufactures the hardware support for some of the circuitry within the e-Lybra amplifier is not in a rush (as at September 2025) to produce the necessary device driver. There is no workaround for this until this driver software becomes available.
- π For security and stability, ensure your system is fully updated before installation
βΉοΈ Microsoft will retire support for Windows 10 in October 2025, so we recommend upgrading to Windows 11 if possible.
π§ Processor Recommendations for e-Lybra 9
The e-Lybra 9 software requires a reasonably fast processor to run smoothly. Hereβs our guidance:
-
β οΈ Intel i3 β Not recommended
π’ Too slow for reliable performance. Fine for basic web browsing, but unsuitable for e-Lybra. -
β
Intel i5 β Minimum recommended
π‘ Delivers reasonable performance, especially on machines less than two years old. Intel regularly improves chip efficiency, so newer i5 models are generally better. -
π Intel i7 β Strongly recommended
π§ Offers noticeably better performance, particularly for multitasking or heavier workloads. Expect around 30% higher cost compared to i5. -
π AMD Ryzen 5 β Comparable to Intel i5
π§ͺ Some users prefer AMD chips, and performance is generally similar. If unsure, we recommend testing the machine before purchase..
π Can I Use a Mac?
- β e-Lybra is not natively compatible with macOS
- πͺ However, some users run e-Lybra successfully using Parallels to host Windows inside macOS
- β οΈ This is an unsupported configuration β performance may vary, and support is limited
π§ Memory (RAM)
- β Absolute minimum: 4GB
- π Recommended: 8GB or more for smooth performance on Windows 10 & 11
π₯οΈ Display Resolution
The e-Lybra 9 software works reliably across most screen sizes, but for best results:
- β Minimum: 1920Γ1080 (Full HD / 1080p)
- π Recommended: 3000Γ2000 or higher for optimal clarity and future-proofing
- π§ Microsoft now encourages developers to design for high-resolution displays. WDS follows these guidelines to ensure newer versions of our software look and perform their best.
Older resolutions like 1366Γ768 or 1440Γ900 will still work, but may feel cramped or less visually refined. If you're buying a new computer, we recommend choosing a modern display to enhance usability and visual comfort.
πΎ Storage Requirements
- π¦ e-Lybra requires only 3GB of disk space
- π₯οΈ Most modern systems (256GB+) easily accommodate this
π Backup Strategy
- π§ͺ A dedicated backup tool is included with e-Lybra
- πΎ We recommend using a fast 32GB USB stick to store client data and formulae
- π‘οΈ This provides redundancy in case of hard disk failure
π« Foreground Activity Warning
During an active e-Lybra session:
- πͺ The software frequently brings its windows to the foreground
- β οΈ We do not recommend multitasking or running other apps at the same time
Outside of session time, your computer can be used normally. So your ideal spec depends on whether youβll use the machine exclusively for e-Lybra or for general tasks as well.
USB Cables and Connections
USB cables have been around since the 1990s and come in different shapes and sizes (click image for larger view)

The e-Lybra system comes with a USB type B socket, into which you connect your PC.

Most computers have traditionally come equipped with sockets for USB type A connectors, and for this reason we include a USB type A to type B in the package.

However, there is a new tendency for some computers - mainly the more expensive ones at the moment - to come with USB type C sockets only. The reason they do this is because it is a newer technology and allows for a significantly faster transfer of data. However we give this information here so that we can advise that if your computer only has a USB type C socket then you will need to separately purchase a USB type B to USB type C cable.

π In the UK you can purchase a cable like this from Amazon at https://www.amazon.co.uk/deleyCON-MK1088-USB-2-0-Cable-black/dp/B071RKJB6K/ref=sr_1_11
